About
Memorybell is a project from classically trained pianist Grant Hazard Outerbridge that explores the emotional and environmental possibilities of ambient music. His releases are simultaneously cinematic and intimate, evoking solitude and yearning, affliction and recovery.
The project came to be in 2014, when Outerbridge awoke in a hospital with no memory of how he had arrived. He was diagnosed with transient global amnesia, a condition that impedes the brain's ability to make new memories. Brain scans showed an increased sensitivity to light and sound. The experience profoundly affected Outerbridge’s life, especially his approach to making music.
Memorybell’s music is available for licensing (master & sync cleared) through Hidden Shoal.
He lives in Denver, Colorado.
